In June 2025, Southwest Agribusiness Company Limited (SWAgCo), in collaboration with the British American Tobacco Nigeria Foundation (BATNF), launched a 50-hectare maize cultivation project with 100 smallholder farmers in Oke-Ako, Ekiti State.
We are proud to inform you that 5 hectares have already been harvested from the cultivated 50 hectares, a strong start that reflects the hard work and commitment of our farmers and partners.
On Tuesday, October 21st, 2025, our partners from BATNF, led by Mr. Adetola Oniyelu, visited the Oke-Ako farm. The team toured the site and expressed satisfaction with the progress recorded so far, reaffirming confidence in our shared vision for agricultural transformation. This visit further strengthens the impact of our ongoing collaboration under the SWAgCo–BATNF Maize Project.
The farm is operated by Westlink Integrated Agriculture Limited, the operating subsidiary of SWAgCo Limited. In the coming weeks, more hectares will be harvested, and we look forward to sharing additional updates as the project progresses.
Through this maize project in collaboration with BATNF and the support of our parent company, Odu’a Investment Company Limited (OICL), we continue to demonstrate that when done right, agriculture has the power to transform communities, uplift farmers, and drive industrialization across Nigeria.
